About CLAT

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance examination for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. It is organised by the Consortium of National Law Universities.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria (UG)

Educational Qualification

  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination.
  • Minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Candidates appearing for their 12th-grade exams are also eligible.

Age Limit

  • No upper age limit for CLAT UG.
  • (Note: Some NLUs might have their own age criteria, but CLAT itself has removed it).

Nationality

  • Indian Nationals are eligible.
  • NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and Foreign Nationals are also eligible to apply through separate channels.

Comprehension passages (450 words each), vocabulary, inference, summary, arguments.
