2. English Communication Skills

  • Grammar: Subject-Verb Agreement, Tense forms, Voices, Articles and Preposition, Use of Conjunctions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: The applicant should be a Resident Indian National and should have graduated from institutions located in India. Foreign and NRI/PIO candidates must apply separately through the International Relations tab on the VIT website.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • A full-time Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration in BCA / B.Sc (Computer Science) / B.Sc (Information Technology) / B.Sc (Electronics) from any recognized University/Institute.
    • Mandatory Subject: Mathematics must be one of the subjects at the graduate level OR at the 10+2 level.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • A minimum aggregate of 60% marks (or First Class) in the qualifying examination (for General category candidates).
    • A minimum aggregate of 50% marks (or First Class) in the qualifying examination for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
    • Consistent academic record with a minimum of 60% marks in Class X and Class XII (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing for their final degree exam / final semester exam in the current year are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their final semester/year exams before the selection counselling at VIT and produce the statement of final year marks and provisional degree certificate by August 15, 2025 (tentative).
  • Academic Gap: A maximum of two years of academic gap is permitted between Class 12 and graduation.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Examination: Computer-Based Test (CBT) - Online.
  • Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Total Number of Questions: 100.
  • Total Marks: 100.
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +1 mark for each correct answer.
    • There is NO negative marking for incorrect answers.
    • No marks deducted for un-attempted questions.
    • Candidates scoring 'Zero' in total will be declared 'Not Qualified'.
  • Medium of Examination: English only.

Application Procedure

The VITMEE application process is entirely online. Key steps include:

  1. Visit the official VIT admissions website (www.vit.ac.in) and navigate to the PG admissions section.
  2. Register as a new user by providing basic details like name, email ID, mobile number, and date of birth.
  3. Verify your email ID and mobile number. A login ID and password will be sent.
  4. Log in using your credentials to access and fill out the detailed application form.
  5. Enter personal, academic, qualifying exam, and communication details. Select your preferred test centers.
  6. Upload scanned images of a recent passport-size color photograph and signature as per specified dimensions and file size.
  7. Pay the non-refundable application fee (approx. INR 1200, including GST) online using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or Paytm.
  8. After successful payment, download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
